The Opportunity
The Chance as the WHS officer, you will play a critical role in supporting site employees maintain safe, compliant, and efficient sites.
Working closely with Project managers, site technicians, site supervisors, subcontractors, and senior management, you will help ensure all projects/ Jobs meet legislative, client, and company safety requirements while promoting continuous improvement across the business
Key Responsibilities
Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety observations across multiple Jobs/ projects
Identify hazards and assist site teams in implementing effective risk controls
Monitor compliance with NSW WHS legislation, Codes of Practice, client requirements, and
Support Site technicians and Supervisors with site specific safety planning
Drive a positive safety culture and encourage proactive safety engagement across all sites
Safety Documentation & Systems
Review and manage Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), risk assessments, and site safety documentation.
Ensure all safety documentation remains current, project/ Site -specific, and compliant.
Maintain WHS records, permits, registers, and compliance documentation.
Monitor subcontractors' compliance and safety performance.
Support internal and external audits and maintain accurate project safety records
Assist with investigation into incidents, hazards, injuries, and near misses.
Prepare incident reports and investigation findings
Recommend and monitor corrective and preventative actions.
Maintain incidents and hazard registers.
Support return-to-work and injury managements processes when required.
Ensure lessons learned are effectively communicated across the team.
Conduct scheduled and ad-hoc WHS audits.
Prepare audit reports, safety statistics, and management updates.
Support ISO *****, ISO-****, and ISO **** compliance activities
Identify opportunities to improve safety systems, procedures, and site performance.
Contribute to ongoing business-wide safety initiatives and continuous improvement
What We're Looking For, you will possess
Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety.
Current Construction White Card
Current Driver's License
Minimum 3 years' experience in a WHS role within the HVAC/ Fire industry
Sound knowledge of NSW WHS legislation
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience working across commercial construction, refurbishment, remedial, maintenance, or related skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital document management platforms
The ability to work autonomously while building strong relationships with site teams and subcontractors
