PFM Sensitive Freight is a specialist transport and 3PL logistics provider based in Wetherwill Park, NSW, delivering high-value and sensitive freight across metro, regional and interstate networks. Our operations support industries including medical, refrigeration, print and ATM services, with safety, compliance and service excellence at the core of everything we do.
We are currently seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our Sydney transport operation, overseeing day-to-day performance, safety, people and fleet outcomes.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the NSW State Manager, this hands-on leadership role is responsible for the end-to-end management of the Sydney transport operations. You will ensure freight moves safely, efficiently and compliantly while leading drivers and operational staff in a fast-paced workplace.
This role suits a confident transport leader who thrives on ownership, accountability and continuous improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Schedule daily transport operations across metro, regional and interstate movements
Manage and optimise fleet utilisation, run efficiency and service delivery
Supervise, support and develop drivers
Manage fatigue compliance, driver hours, leave, welfare and performance issues
Conduct toolbox meetings and maintain clear operational communication
Ensure compliance with SOPs, Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and safety standards
Investigate and report incidents, damages and accidents




Act as an escalation point for customers and internal stakeholders
Monitor operational inboxes and coordinate responses as required
Report operational performance, issues and metrics to national leadership
Drive continuous improvement across safety, processes and service outcomes
ABOUT YOU
3-5+ years' experience in transport or logistics operations
Proven supervisory or people leadership experience
Strong knowledge of transport compliance, fatigue management and CoR
Experience managing drivers, fleet and daily run execution
Comfortable working in a dynamic, operationally focused environment
Process-driven, safety-focused and commercially aware
Confident communicator with strong problem-solving skills
Experience handling sensitive freight (high-value or specialised) highly regarded
Qualifications in Transport, Logistics or Supply Chain (preferred)
