dream garage pty ltd Dream Garage is looking for a qualified and dependable Light Vehicle Mechanic to service, diagnose, and repair petrol engines and mechanical systems in light vehicles. The role involves conducting routine maintenance, checking vehicle components for safety and performance, and completing mechanical repairs according to manufacturer guidelines and road safety requirements. The position includes maintaining, testing, and repairing petrol engines and essential vehicle systems such as transmissions, suspension, steering, and brakes.
High standards of workmanship and compliance with emissions and safety regulations are essential. Registration or licensing may be required. . Benefits Competitive pay rates.
Annual Salary plus Super Supportive Team workplace Task & responsibilities Detect and diagnose mechanical faults in engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, and braking systems. Dismantle, inspect, and remove engine assemblies and related vehicle components for repair or replacement. Carry out repairs and servicing petrol engines and associated systems, using service manuals and technical diagrams.
Perform scheduled maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, engine tune-ups, brake pad replacement, and fluid top-ups. Reassemble engines and components after repairs, ensuring proper alignment and torque specifications. Use manual and computerized diagnostic tools to test, calibrate,



and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.
Road test vehicles to verify repair effectiveness, engine tuning, and system safety compliance. Ensure all work meets emissions, pollution control, and safety regulations. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workshop environment and follow WHS procedures.
Inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates or advise customers on required repairs for compliance. Qualification & experience Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent) with at least 2 years of practical training; OR Minimum 3 years of full-time relevant experience in motor mechanics in place of formal qualifications. Strong understanding of petrol engines, drivetrains, braking systems, and general vehicle mechanics.
Ability to use diagnostic tools, workshop equipment, and service instruments effectively. Knowledge of Australian emissions standards, roadworthiness requirements, and safety regulations. Good communication skills and ability to explain issues clearly to non-technical clients.
