**** Electrical Apprenticeship Program
at our
Tableland Mill
, located approximately
25km west of Mareeba
on the Atherton Tablelands.
As an
Electrical Apprentice
, you'll complete a
Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician
while gaining valuable hands-on experience working alongside experienced tradespeople. You'll learn to install, maintain, fault-find, and repair a diverse range of industrial electrical equipment across our sugar milling operations, including factory plant, process equipment, power generation systems, instrumentation, and automation equipment.
This is an outstanding opportunity to develop highly sought-after trade skills in a large-scale manufacturing environment while earning an income and working towards a nationally recognised qualification.
What You'll Learn
Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll gain experience in:
Installing, maintaining, and repairing industrial electrical equipment.
Fault finding and troubleshooting electrical and control systems.
Maintaining factory plant, conveyors, pumps, motors, and process equipment.
Working with instrumentation and automated process control systems.




Assisting with the maintenance of power generation equipment.
Developing practical trade skills under the guidance of experienced Electricians.
Working safely in accordance with industry standards and safe work practices.
About You
We're looking for motivated individuals who are eager to learn and committed to building a successful trade career.
Ideally, you will have:
Successfully completed Year 12, including Mathematics (A, B or C), English (or English Communications), and at least one Science subject;
or
Completed a Certificate II in Electrotechnology or other relevant pre-vocational studies;
or
Relevant work experience demonstrating an interest in the electrical trade.
A genuine interest in becoming a qualified Electrician.
A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
A commitment to working safely at all times.
Reliability, motivation, and a strong work ethic.
The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication skills and a willingness to contribute to a supportive team environment.
