At Lives Lived Well, we believe respectful relationships, lived experience and evidence-based practice create the best outcomes - for the people we support and the people we employ. We offer flexibility, trust and support so you can do your best work without losing yourself in the process.
About the program
The service provides community-based, non-residential specialist AOD treatment and harm-reduction support for young people aged *******, as well as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults. Practice is evidence-based, trauma-informed and culturally safe, with strong emphasis on outreach, engagement and harm minimisation.
About the role
This role is predominantly outreach-based, meeting people in the spaces they already engage with - other service providers, schools, youth centres and community settings across the Sunshine Coast.
Based in central Maroochydore, you'll work within an established local service footprint, building on strong community relationships and networks already in place. Office-based work is minimal (1-2 days per week), allowing your focus to stay where it matters most - in the community.
In this role, you will:
Deliver individual counselling and therapeutic interventions
Provide psychosocial case management, care coordination and advocacy
Support harm minimisation, prevention and youth-friendly education
Build strong relationships with young people, families and services
Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary youth AOD team
This role suits someone comfortable working independently in the community, who understands boundaries, communicates clearly with young people, and values steady, meaningful change over quick wins.
You will need to have high EQ and solid self-care strategies in place.
What you'll bring
Qualification in AOD, Counselling, Social Work, Psychology or similar
Experience working with young people and complex psychosocial needs
Confidence engaging young people in their own environments
Strong relationship-building and professional communication skills
Ability to balance empathy with transparent boundaries and accountability
Cultural sensitivity and inclusive practice
Backgrounds in school counselling, youth work, Out of Home Care, Headspace or family intervention are highly regarded.
What you'll get
You'll join a young, vibrant and community-focused Sunshine Coast team, working almost entirely in outreach. While the team doesn't spend every day together, connection, trust and professional support are strong.
You'll be supported by a highly experienced, practical leader who provides clear structure while trusting staff to manage their work. Your leader is hands-on when needed, clinically skilled, approachable and respectful of autonomy - backing her team without getting in the way.
Other benefits include:
SCHADS Level 5 salary: approx. $100,000 - $105,000 + super
Salary packaging to increase take-home pay
Five extra paid wellbeing leave days per year
Onsite parking and company pool vehicle for work use
Central Maroochydore location close to shops, cafes and public transport
Ongoing clinical supervision and professional development
Employee Assistance Program for you and your family
Applications close on Friday 21st August however we will be interviewing throughout the process and may close applications early.
