We are seeking a qualified and experienced Chef/Cook to join our business on a full time basis. This position will require the candidate to be available across a 7-day roster
In this role, you will take responsibility for rostering, menu planning; ordering and serve top quality food to patrons.
Key Responsibilities will include:
Planning of menu items and liaising with the Restaurant Manger on costs/expenses
Assisting with all aspects of food preparation
Supervising kitchen staff and working collectively to meet restaurant demands
Checking of kitchen inventory and ordering of supplies as required
Estimating of all restaurant costs including food, labour and incidentals
Mentoring and training of junior staff as required
Monitoring of food preparation to ensure high standards are adhered to at all times
Assisting the Head Chef in planning Staff Rosters
Adhering to all OH&S; regulations and regular updating of policies as required
Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a busy kitchen environment
Certificate IV or higher in commercial cooking
Expertise in the hospitality sector
Superior customer service focus
Exceptional communication skills and ability to liaise with a diverse clientele
Adaptable, adaptable and ability to work weekdays and weekends
Well-presented and skilled
Ability to work effectively under pressure
Team player with a can-do attitude who can also work effectively unsupervised
Understanding of OH&S; and food hygiene requirements
Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000 (Commensuration with experience)
