Are you a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter or Maintainer looking for a stable, hands‐on role with a well‐established and respected company? Cement Australia is currently seeking a Plant Technician (internally known as a Maintainer Operator) to join our team working across our Clyde and Glebe Terminals.
In this role, you will play a critical part in keeping terminal operations running safely and efficiently through preventative maintenance, breakdown response, fabrication and installation activities, while also supporting terminal operations including rail unloading and product movements.
This is an exciting opportunity to work across a diverse range of mechanical and operational activities within a national industry leader.
Roster:
This is a
Monday to Friday day shift position
, with overtime available as required to support operational requirements, breakdowns and vessel shipments.
As a
Maintainer Operator
you will:
Carry out preventative and planned maintenance activities across terminal plant and equipment.
Respond promptly to breakdowns, troubleshoot faults and complete mechanical repairs to minimise downtime.
Complete fabrication, installation and mechanical project work to support capital improvements and upgrades.
Raise maintenance notifications and provide feedback to support effective planning, scheduling and inventory management.
Support rail and ship unloading activities and terminal operations in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Monitor silo capacity and support stock management activities to maintain uninterrupted supply.
Ensure storage, loading and unloading facilities remain available to support customer demand.
Maintain strong product quality standards and minimise contamination risks.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and uphold high housekeeping standards.
Work safely and comply with Cement Australia's SHEQ standards, permit systems and isolation procedures.

What You'll Bring
Mechanical Trade Qualification
Minimum 3 years' experience in a trade-related role within heavy manufacturing or industrial environments
Strong fault finding and mechanical troubleshooting capability
Experience completing preventative and breakdown maintenance
Familiarity with fabrication and installation works
Experience working with small hand and power tools
Basic SAP and Microsoft Excel skills
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
Experience within bulk materials handling, transport loading/unloading or terminal environments (highly desirable)
Current Confined Space and Working at Heights tickets
EWP Licence (desirable)
