The Opportunity
Due to movement in the team, we are inviting applications from experienced Payroll Officers to join our team in North Fremantle. This opportunity is available on a part time (core hours Mon-Wed & Fri) or full time basis, offering flexibility for the right candidate.

Reporting to the Finance & HR Manager, the Payroll Officer will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of end-to-end payroll while ensuring compliance with Australian legislation, Awards, Enterprise Agreements and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
Process fortnightly payroll for over 400 employees across multiple entities using Pay Global
Maintain employee records within Definitiv
Ensure accuracy of payroll records for new hires, pay changes and terminations
Review timesheets and reconcile payroll discrepancies in a timely manner
Process superannuation, payroll tax and statutory reporting
Interpret and apply relevant Awards and Enterprise Agreements
Manage leave accruals, workers' compensation and long service leave entitlements
Prepare payroll journals, reconciliations and statutory reporting




Assist with end-of-financial-year payroll activities
Respond to payroll enquiries from employees and managers
Support payroll system improvements and maintain payroll procedures
Work collaboratively with Finance, HR and operational teams to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have
Demonstrated 3+ years' experience in an end-to-end payroll position
Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements
Experience interpreting Awards and Enterprise Agreements
Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational and time management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A high level of integrity with the ability to maintain confidentiality
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Flexible approach to work
Desirable Skills & Experience
Experience using PayGlobal payroll software
Experience using Access Definitiv or similar payroll systems
Experience using Onsite Personnel Management System (OPMS)
Experience within the marine, construction, engineering or resources industries
