We are seeking an
Experienced Supported Independent Living (SIL) Coordinator
(also known as HALO / House Coordinators), passionate about making a real difference in people's lives to join Access4u, a leading South Australian not-for-profit organisation in the disability sector.
About the Role
As the SIL Coordinator, you'll provide leadership and operational oversight across supported independent living homes. You'll guide, coach and develop staff to deliver consistent, high-quality active support, while ensuring compliance with NDIS Quality and Safeguarding standards.
You'll play a key role in coordinating day-to-day operations, managing stakeholder relationships, and fostering community inclusion for participants — all while maintaining a strong focus on independence, choice, and dignity.
Please note:
This position requires participation in a rotating
on-call roster
to ensure continuity of support and prompt response to urgent matters outside of standard business hours.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor and support front-line staff to deliver person-centred, high-quality support.
Ensure services align with customer goals, NDIS plans, and organisational compliance.
Develop and maintain rosters aligned with Roster of Care (ROC) requirements.
Communicate effectively with families, participants, and external stakeholders.
Support participants to engage in their community and strengthen natural supports.
Conduct regular risk assessments and contribute to continuous improvement.
Prepare for and participate in NDIS plan reviews.
Manage team performance, recruitment,
and development.
Promote a positive, collaborative, and inclusive team culture.
What you will need to succeed:
Experience in disability, community, or aged care services (NDIS experience preferred).
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Ability to manage rosters, staff performance, and compliance requirements.
Sound understanding of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission standards.
Commitment to person-centred support and promoting independence.
Relevant qualification in Disability, Community Services, or similar (desirable).
Current NDIS Worker Check, Working With Children Check, First Aid, CPR, Child Safe Environments, and Driver's Licence.
