We are seeking a reliable, customer‑focused Postal Services Officer to join our team at Pomona Post Office. This role is hands‑on, fast‑paced, and central to delivering Australia Post’s full suite of products and services to our local community.
You will work collaboratively with a small, supportive team and be trusted to perform a wide range of postal, financial, and identity‑verification services with accuracy, compliance, and professionalism.
About the Role
As a Post Office Counter Operator, you'll be the face of our business, providing exceptional customer service while assisting with a wide range of Australia Post products and services.
Your responsibilities will include:
Performing customer sales and service transactions.
Managing high-value transactions accurately, including handling and processing cash, cheques, credit cards and EFTPOS.
Assisting customers with mail and parcel lodgements, postage options and associated costs.
Promoting Australia Post products and services through up‑selling, cross‑selling, merchandising and promotional activities.
Building rewarding relationships with customers by understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
Assisting with administrative duties, including stocktaking and maintaining accurate records.
Maintaining a clean, organised and welcoming retail environment.
Follow all workplace health and safety requirements relevant to the position

You’ll also need to:
Previous experience working in a Post Office or a strong background in customer service and cash handling.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Positive computer skills and the ability to learn new systems.
High attention to detail and accuracy when handling transactions.
Be physically fit to regularly lift parcels and mail up to 16 kg and remain on your feet throughout your shift.
Be dependable, punctual and able to work in a quick‑paced workplace.
