About the School
Welcome to Stretton State College. We are a high performing school with an enrolment of approximately **** students across our primary (Gowan) and secondary (Illaweena) campuses. As we enter our eleventh year at Stretton State College we are excited to welcome new students and community members to our College.
We have worked to establish a school which has a strong values base, and strives to ensure a culture of high expectations for students and staff. Our school is one where students look forward to the challenges and opportunities each day, with an increasing focus on eLearning and the advancements of digital learning.
The role of Head of Department (HOD) Teaching and Learning is based on the secondary campus but also works across the primary campus. There is teaching load associated with this role (1 line of teaching).



The HOD Teaching and Learning will also work closely in connection with the primary campus leadership team and teaching staff to deliver the pedagogical approach for the College.
Other aspects of this role include:
Lead the school department, in alignment with the school priorities and strategic plan in collaboration with the school leadership team, to commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
Display high quality leadership that sets high standards, and directly influences the engagement, improvement, achievement and wellbeing of staff and students.
Leading pedagogical practices that focus on empowering students to experience academic growth and success through inclusive practices that enable access, participation purposeful engagement and yearly growth in learning.
Be futures oriented and strategic in the leadership of faculty and school improvement strategies.
Lead collegial engagement and skilled learning opportunities across the College.
Manage the human, financial, facilities and curriculum resources of the school department to achieve goals.
