Rail Safety Advisor - Systems and Accreditation

Six brand-new metro stations from St Marys to the new Aerotropolis.
Twelve new metro trains and core rail systems.

The Opportunity - Rail Safety Advisor - Accreditation and Systems
We are seeking highly skilled Rail Safety Advisor - Accreditation and Systems.
The Rail Safety Advisor will coordinate the delivery of Webuild's Rail Safety legislative requirements as a Rail Infrastructure Manager on the SSTOM project as per Deed and Legislative requirements.




You will consult with and provide support to the Health and Safety team for the inclusion of Rail Safety National Law requirements into the Webuild SSTOM Project Safety Management System.
Manage complex contractual negotiations while ensuring compliance, governance, and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
Provide administrative and technical support to the Rail Safety Managers by gathering and distributing information on the Safety Management System (SMS).
Assist the Rail Safety Director with maintaining and updating key documents, such as the Safety Accreditation Plan, by preparing drafts and tracking changes.
Liaise with internal teams (Construction, Engineering) to gather information needed for reports and regulatory submissions.
Provide support for project working groups by scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and taking minutes as required.
Help build and maintain positive relationships with the Health and Safety Team by acting as a reliable point of contact for routine rail safety queries.
Support the Rail Safety Administration team by collecting information for ONRSR portal entries and helping to track reporting timelines.
Enter rail safety data, including notifiable occurrences, into the Office of the National Rail Safety Regulator (ONRSR) Portal under the direction of senior staff.
What We're Looking For
Tertiary qualifications in Rail Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, WHS, or a related field.




Proven experience as a Rail Safety Coordinator in the construction industry, preferably within a Tier 1 Contractor organisation.
Minimum 2+ years working on a rail project with a focus on safety management systems (rail desirable).
Understanding of rail safety systems and programs.
Understanding of rail safety risk management principles
Knowledge of relevant rail safety legislation, regulations, and codes of practice.
Understanding of safety accreditation processes and safety management systems methodologies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions in high-pressure situations.
