People & Culture Business Partner - Support Office & Distribution Centre
Shape strategy.
Challenge thinking.
Drive commercial outcomes through people.
At Adairs, we believe exceptional People & Culture professionals don't simply respond to business needs; they help create the future of the business.
We're looking for an experienced Commercial People & Culture Business Partner who is commercially astute, strategically curious and confident enough to influence senior leaders, challenge thinking and shape better business outcomes.
This isn't a role for someone who waits to be asked.
We're looking for someone who naturally identifies opportunities, solves complex business problems and partners with leaders before issues become risks.
Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, you'll partner with Executive and Senior Leaders across our Support Office and Distribution Centre to influence organisational performance, leadership capability, culture and workforce strategy.
This role is equal parts strategic advisor, commercial thinker, industrial relations expert and trusted coach.
If you're someone who enjoys building rather than maintaining, thrives in ambiguity and believes People & Culture should directly influence business performance, we'd love to hear from you.
You'll make an impact by
Partnering with Executive and Senior Leaders to shape commercial people strategies that improve business performance.
Influencing complex business decisions through insight, challenge and trusted advice.
Leading significant organisational change including restructures, workforce planning, organisational design and capability uplift.
Negotiating and implementing Enterprise Agreements while providing practical industrial relations advice that balances commercial outcomes with employee experience.
Identifying people risks before they become business problems and proactively developing solutions.
Using workforce insights and data to influence leadership decisions and improve organisational effectiveness.
Coaching leaders through complex performance, leadership and change challenges.
Building practical frameworks, tools and processes that increase leadership capability and create consistency across the business.

Collaborating across the broader People & Culture team to continuously improve how we partner with the business.
What we're looking for
Significant experience as a senior HR or People & Culture Business Partner within a complex, fast-paced organisation.
Demonstrated experience leading Enterprise Agreement negotiations and applying industrial instruments within operational environments (highly advantageous).
Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, industrial relations and employee relations.
Proven experience partnering with senior executives and influencing complex commercial decisions.
Experience leading organisational design, restructures, workforce planning and large-scale change initiatives.
The confidence to challenge respectfully, influence effectively and hold courageous conversations.
A proactive mindset—you naturally identify opportunities, anticipate risks and take ownership before being asked.
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to connect people decisions to financial, operational and customer outcomes.
Outstanding judgement—you know when to coach, when to challenge and when to escape?
High levels of resilience, curiosity and adaptability.
