They now have an exciting career opportunity for an experienced FMCG Food Technologist ready to step up, or a current Senior Food Technologist, ready to move into a new category.
Role is located in Beresfield (north of Newcastle).
The Role – Located in Beresfield, NSW
Reporting to the NPD Commercial Manager, you will be required to be on site 5 days a week but there is flexibility with start and finish times.
Key to this role is the ability to lead and mentor less experienced team members.
Your responsibilities include the following:
This role will be the most senior Food Technologist onsite
Ensure projects follow the NPD Stage Gate Process to ensure key metrics are achieved
Provide technical expertise across the portfolio
Take customer concepts through to commercialisation and launch
Manage and provide leadership on technical aspects of projects
Commercialise a portfolio of +65 NPD projects per year
Participation in the development of a 2+ year strategic innovation pipeline, with the brand and customer teams, across branded and private label products




Hold annual innovation sessions with key suppliers to ensure the joint development of a strong NPD pipeline
Assist the company to improve in the areas of Safety, Environmental, Quality and Compliance
About You
We seek candidates with the following skills and experience:
Project leadership - to effectively lead from the front and support the NPD team
The desire and aptitude to be developed for a managerial role in the near future.
Current or previous managerial experience will be highly regarded
Process management – develop, manage and follow process with a keen eye for detail
Technical Skills – a current understanding of required food & quality standards and legislation to commercialise new products
Effective negotiation, decision-making and problem-solving skills
Highly developed presentation skills
Excellent organisation skills – ability to manage diversity of projects
Planning and innovation, business acumen and effective communication skills
Organisational agility and the ability to work closely with key suppliers on innovation workshops, from paper concepts through to launch
Experience in FMCG Food industry a must
Currently on a Visa and wishing to work regionally to speed up the PR process
A degree in Food Science or a related discipline
A proven track record in a Product Development role in a similar field
