Programmed Maintenance Services – Culcairn NSW

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Plant Mechanic to join one of our local client sites in Culcairn, responsible for maintaining and repairing Council plant and equipment. This is an excellent chance to work in a supportive workshop environment with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and teamwork.

About the Role

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you will be responsible for servicing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of plant and equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities
Service, repair, and maintain Council plant and equipment
Carry out maintenance and repairs on additional plant as directed
Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised workshop, ensuring tools and materials are readily available
Attend and respond to plant breakdowns in the field when required
Provide input and advice on plant purchases
Ensure all plant is equipped with complete operating, maintenance, start-up, and shutdown procedures
Support and train staff in the correct operation and maintenance of plant
Supervise and mentor an Apprentice Mechanic
Assist with the design and development of approved workshop projects




Perform other duties within your skill set as directed

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Commitment to safety and high-quality workmanship

Licences & Tickets
MR Licence (Essential)
LF (Forklift) Licence (Preferred but not essential)
Front-End Loader Ticket (Preferred but not essential)

Competitive pay rate: $44.39 per hour
Work-life balance with a 9-day fortnight (every second Friday off)
Stable, full-time hours: Monday to Friday, 6:30am - 3:30pm
