About the role:
The Manual Machinist role will see the prospective employee operating a number of different manual mills & lathes as required to produce parts within a job shop environment.
Parts are primarily steel based, but occasionallydifferent materialssuch as bronze or nylon do come through.
Use of overhead crane to load and unload material/stock from machines.
Interpreting engineering drawings,choosingand setting tooling, adjusting speeds and feeds.
Measuring and checking of parts to drawing specifications.
CNC machine experience is ofbenefit, but not required.

Work Hours:
Monday to Thursday: 7:30am - 4:00pm
Friday: 7:00am - 1:00pm
Ongoing casual position
Overtime opportunities available based on operational requirements
Essential Requirements:
Recent experience in a heavy industrial environment is essential
Manufacturing precision components on manual mills and lathes, mill sizes range fromrelatively small400cm beds, and lathes from ~100cm lengths to 800cm between centres.
Experience on small & large machines is well regarded.
Abilityto interpret technical drawings & schematics, and detailed inspection
Understand toolselection, setting and manufacturing methods.
Some setups can berelatively tricky, experience with difficult setups well regarded, experience in assisting other machinists with setups also extremely well regarded.
Proficient in the use and calibration of measuring equipment.
Energetic 'Can do' attitude.
Work well in a team workplace and be able to follow direction.
Strong attention to detail and safety.
Current or able to obtain a National Police Clearance.
Desirable Qualifications:
Current Forklift ticket
Manualdriverslicense
Experience training apprentices isadvantageous.
Immediate start available
