About the role
As Service Manager, you will play a critical role in keeping our operations running smoothly while delivering an outstanding experience for our customers.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will lead a large operational team, build strong customer relationships and drive performance across a busy service operation.
You will work in partnership with the Sales, Production and Finance teams to ensure that our customers receive an exceptional level of service every day.
Reporting to the Branch General Manager as a member of the senior leadership team, you will play a key role in the ongoing success and growth of the Newcastle branch.
You will lead a large and dedicated service team including Service Coordinators, Account Managers, a Transport Manager and Service Delivery People.
Bringing these functions together, you will provide the direction and support that keeps the operation running smoothly.

Key responsibilities
Manage and oversee day-to-day service operations and delivery to ensure customer satisfaction and service level agreements are met
Lead, supervise and motivate the service team, including scheduling, recruitment, training, performance management and staff development
Develop and implement service strategies and processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs and enhance customer experience
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and service metrics, providing regular reporting and analysis to senior management
Maintain strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders, addressing concerns and resolving issues promptly
Coordinate with logistics and operations teams to ensure seamless service delivery and inventory management
Implement health and safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements across all service activities
Identify opportunities for service improvement and innovation, leading continuous improvement initiatives
Manage service budgets, control costs and maximise profitability within assigned areas of responsibility
Respond to customer inquiries and escalations, ensuring prompt resolution and maintaining service quality standards
What we're looking for
Proven experience in a service management or operations management role, ideally within manufacturing,
service, transport, logistics or a related industry
Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams
Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Strong customer service orientation with demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships
Proficiency with scheduling systems, inventory management software and other relevant business systems
Sound knowledge of health, safety and compliance requirements in operational environments
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
Problem-solving capability and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure
Relevant qualifications in business management, operations management or a related field (preferred)
Experience in the uniforms, laundry or facility services industry is advantageous
