Conduct site inspections, audits, safety observations and verification activities to identify hazards and support effective controls.
Assist with the development, implementation and review of project safety management plans, SWMS, risk assessments and safe work procedures.
Facilitate toolbox talks, pre‐start meetings, safety alerts and informal onsite coaching to build safety awareness.
Support incident reporting, investigation and corrective action management, including near misses and high‐potential events.
Monitor compliance with WHS legislation, client requirements, project procedures and company standards.
Participate in subcontractor onboarding, consultation activities and safety performance reviews.
Maintain accurate safety records, reports, registers and action tracking systems.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen safety leadership and reduce operational risk.
About You:
Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent qualification.
Previous experience in a Safety Advisor, HSE Advisor, WHS Advisor or similar role within civil construction, roadworks or infrastructure projects.
Strong understanding of WHS legislation, construction safety duties and risk management practices.
Experience supporting high-risk construction activities such as mobile plant, excavation, traffic interfaces, lifting operations, working near services and live road environments.
Ability to engage confidently with supervisors, workers, subcontractors, client representatives and senior leaders.
Strong written communication skills, including safety reporting, investigation documentation and procedure review.
Practical, solutions‐focused approach with the ability to influence positive safety behaviours on site.
Current driver licence and willingness to work across project sites as required.
Highly Regarded:
Experience on TFNSW or local government road infrastructure projects.
Incident investigation training, such as ICAM or equivalent.
Internal auditor qualification or experience conducting system and site audits.
Return to Work Coordinator training or experience.
Traffic management, civil works, utilities, drainage or structures project exposure.
Opportunity to contribute to a significant road infrastructure project.
Supportive project team with a strong commitment to safety, quality and collaboration.
Competitive remuneration package aligned to experience.
Ongoing professional development and career progression opportunities.
Practical site‐based role where your safety advice will directly influence project outcomes.
