Reporting directly to the Area Manager, you will take ownership of supervising and directing subcontractor crews to ensure all civil field activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with project, quality, and commercial objectives.
This role plays a critical part in overseeing pit & pipe, underground asset works, and telecommunications civil construction across Sydney + ACT Regions. You will act as the key on-site leader, ensuring compliance, productivity, and customer satisfaction across multiple active sites. MDU or N2P exposure desired
Key Responsibilities
Provide clear leadership and direction to civil crews and subcontractors to achieve project KPIs and exceed client expectations.
Deliver subject matter expertise in telecommunications civil construction, particularly pit & pipe and underground infrastructure.
Review, authorise, and sign off civil permits to work, ensuring risks around underground assets and services are properly controlled.
Oversee daily field operations to ensure works are completed safely, on time, and within scope.
Manage in-field design variations and ensure accurate documentation of changes.
Maintain strong commercial awareness, understanding cost drivers, variations,
and productivity performance.
Drive safety culture through monthly individual safety checks and quality KPI reporting.
Demonstrate strong organisational skills to meet production targets and effectively prioritise critical issues.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience supervising civil construction projects within telecommunications networks.
MDU OR N2P Experience desired
Strong background working on Telstra and/or NBN pit & pipe infrastructure.
Demonstrated ability to manage subcontractors and resolve day-to-day operational and technical challenges autonomously.
Solid understanding of underground asset protection and permit systems.
High level of commercial acumen and ability to work within structured project governance frameworks.
Certification in supervising ACM removal (desirable).
Certificate III in Civil Construction (desirable).
