Nurse Unit Manager | Ophthalmology | Sunshine Coast, QLD
Our client is seeking an experienced Nurse Unit Manager to join the team from the outset. This is a full time, permanent role within a purpose-built, multidisciplinary environment equipped with three state-of-the-art operating theatres and contemporary recovery and patient care areas.
The facility supports a broad surgical caseload across Ophthalmology, General Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Gastroenterology, Orthopaedics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Breast Surgery.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
Scrubbing and scouting across a range of surgical procedures
Managing clinical staff, including rostering and performance appraisals
Writing and reviewing evidence-based policies and procedures
Supporting quality management and ACQSHC National Standards accreditation
Building and maintaining effective working relationships with VMOs, CURA and industry representatives
Driving a culture of safety, continuous improvement and best practice
Applying ACORN Standards and infection prevention principles in day-to-day practice
What You Bring
Over 3 years perioperative experience
a Minimum of 2 years Ophthalmology experience (essential)
Demonstrated clinical leadership and team management capability
Proven ability to lead change within a clinical setting
Robust organisational, communication and decision-making skills
Current AHPRA registration
