About the Position:
WorkPac are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer for a position based in Bell Bay, Tasmania.
This role is offering a Monday to Friday roster for a 12 month duration.
Key responsibilities:
Lead execution of mechanical package scopes including structural, piping and associated works
Manage contractor performance, engagement and compliance
Oversee QA processes, construction verification inspections and design compliance
Coordinate procurement of materials, equipment and site resources
Develop and maintain project schedules
Track costs,



manage forecasting and deliver financial reporting
Identify and manage project risks and opportunities
Support testing, commissioning and handover activities
Ensure adherence to Rio Tinto safety standards and promote a strong safety culture
Provide KPI reporting and performance updates
Skills and experience:
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
5–8+ years site based project execution experience in multi disciplinary environments
Proven experience in testing and commissioning activities
Strong contract and contractor management capability
Previous experience in client-side project delivery roles
High-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Robust analytical and problem-solving ability
Excellent attention to detail and technical interpretation skills
Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word proficiency
Strong personal integrity and commitment to safety
Ability to work both autonomously and within a high performing team
Contractor delivery experience is highly regarded.
