Our electrical overhauls and new-build work is rapidly expanding, and we are building out our mechanical capability to match. We are looking for a Mechanical Overhauls Coordinator to be the mechanical lead across a variety of overhaul projects.
About the Role
This is a hands‐on leadership role for an experienced mechanical tradesperson who knows underground coal mining equipment inside out and wants to step up as the mechanical lead on overhaul work.
You will support our expanding electrical overhauls and new-build programs by owning the mechanical side — coordinating, leading and delivering mechanical overhauls on major underground coal equipment. It is a genuine opportunity to be the mechanical lead across a diverse range of overhauls, working alongside our electrical and engineering teams.
What you will be doing
Acting as the mechanical lead on a variety of underground coal equipment overhauls
Coordinating and delivering mechanical overhaul works — planning, resourcing and hands‐on delivery
Working on equipment such as hydraulic longwall shields, shuttle cars and continuous miners




Supporting the electrical overhauls and new-build teams to deliver complete, integrated overhauls
Mentoring and guiding mechanical tradespeople on the tools
Coordinating parts, components and mechanical scope with engineering and project management
Ensuring quality, safety and standards are met across all mechanical overhaul work
What we are looking for
Proven overhaul experience with underground coal mining equipment — hydraulic longwall shields, shuttle cars and continuous miners
A mechanical trade qualification (fitter / mechanical fitter or similar)
Strong coordination and leadership skills — able to run the mechanical side of an overhaul
Hands‐on and happy to lead from the tools
Good with people and able to guide a mechanical crew
Solid understanding of hydraulic systems and heavy mechanical overhaul
Based in (or willing to be based in) the Newcastle, Hunter Valley or Central Coast area
Valid driver licence
