The Role Based within a major tertiary referral hospital servicing a population of approximately
700,000 people
, you will provide specialist psychiatric assessment and treatment for children and adolescents with severe and complex mental health disorders.
Working across the
Acute Child and Adolescent Inpatient Unit
and community mental health services, you will deliver recovery-focused care while working closely with experienced psychiatrists, psychologists, nursing staff, allied health professionals and community agencies.
Your responsibilities will include:
Specialist psychiatric assessment and treatment of children and adolescents
Management of complex mental health presentations across inpatient and community settings
Clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary team
Participation in service planning and quality improvement initiatives
Teaching and supervision of junior medical staff and multidisciplinary colleagues
Opportunities to participate in research and academic activities
Delivering high-quality, patient-centred and recovery-oriented care

Requirements
Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP)
or eligibility for specialist registration via the RANZCP Specialist Pathway
Eligibility for registration with
AHPRA / Medical Board of Australia
Specialist experience in
Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
Commitment to multidisciplinary, recovery-oriented care
Excellent communication, leadership and teamwork skills
