About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed
Employability Skills Trainer
to join our Employment Services team to work across
Fortitude Valley & Strathpine
on a casual basis. The Employment Services division is dedicated to generating opportunities that empower and encourage people to find gainful employment and make a positive contribution to their community.
Reporting to the
Regional Manager – Workforce Australia
, the Employability Skills Trainer will deliver training to eligible participants within the
Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW)
program. This role focuses on supporting both vocational and non-vocational outcomes, contributing to key performance indicators including employment placements.
Other key duties of the role will include:
Facilitate face-to-face group and one-on-one training sessions on-site for SQW participants.
Explore participants' motivations, career goals and pathways.
Identify existing skills and how they can transfer across industries or roles.
Research and discuss local employment opportunities and the skills required.




Support participants to update, tailor, and improve their job applications.
Proactively engage participants in group-based learning activities.
Maintain accurate participant records and complete required reporting in relevant systems.
About You:
The ideal applicant we are seeking will have:
Experience/ability to deliver non-accredited training to disadvantaged cohorts.
Knowledge of effective training methods which deliver employment outcomes.
Knowledge of the Queensland local labour market.
Demonstrated ability to adapt delivery mode to suit all levels of learners.
Ability to work well with people from a diverse background.
First Aid certification.
Attention to detail and proficient in IT applications.
