Absolute Fire Safety Services Pty Ltd is seeking a motivated
Fire Electrician / Fire Systems Tester
to join our growing service team.
This is a varied field-based role involving the inspection, testing, servicing, fault-finding and repair of electrical fire protection systems across residential, commercial and industrial properties throughout Sydney.
The position would suit either:
An experienced fire electrician or electrical fire systems technician;
A licensed electrician with fire testing and maintenance experience; or
A qualified electrician seeking to further specialise in the fire protection industry.
The role
You will be responsible for carrying out routine servicing, annual testing, fault diagnosis, repairs and minor installation work on a range of essential fire safety systems.
Your duties will include:
Inspecting and testing fire detection and alarm systems;
Completing monthly, six-monthly and annual testing in accordance with AS ****;
Diagnosing and repairing faults on fire indicator panels, detection systems and associated equipment;
Testing alarm interfaces, occupant warning systems and ancillary functions;
Testing and repairing faults on emergency and exit lighting systems;
Carrying out minor installations, alterations and rectification work;
Identifying defects and clearly documenting recommended repairs;
Completing accurate electronic service reports and compliance documentation;
Liaising professionally with building managers, clients, contractors and occupants;
Working independently while maintaining communication with the service and operations teams;
Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high professional standard.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
A current NSW electrical licence;
Experience inspecting, testing, servicing or repairing fire detection and alarm systems;
Practical knowledge of AS **** routine servicing requirements;




Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills;
Experience with fire indicator panels, detectors, alarm devices and system interfaces;
The ability to read drawings, specifications and cause-and-effect documentation;
Good computer skills and the ability to complete accurate electronic reports;
Strong communication and customer-service skills;
The ability to work independently and manage an allocated service schedule;
A current White Card.
Experience with other essential fire safety measures will be highly regarded.
FPAS accreditation or relevant qualifications will also be highly regarded; however, additional training may be provided to the right applicant.
