The Opportunity
We're seeking a Senior Driller to join our established Drilling team, reporting to the Group Geotechnical Manager. Working predominantly across greater Sydney with some regional travel, you'll take the lead operating our track mounted geotechnical Drill Rig and associated auxiliary equipment, delivering high-quality drilling outcomes on mid to large-scale civil and infrastructure projects.
You'll have the opportunity to lead a small team on-site, ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently and to a high technical standard, while mentoring and developing junior team members.
With exposure to a broad range of projects and a genuine opportunity to grow into a team leadership capacity, this role is well suited to an experienced driller looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and established team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead a team independently, safely and efficiently on-site
Operate a Geotechnical Drill Rig using Auger, HQ3 and mud rotary drilling techniques to a high standard
Take responsibility for the rig and its associated auxiliary equipment, including basic maintenance, repairs and servicing
Complete daily pre-start inspections,
drilling PLODs and HSE documentation
Mentor and conduct on-the-job training for junior team members
Support the team in overcoming on-site challenges to ensure work is completed to schedule
About You
Cert III in Drilling Operations
HR licence
Class 2 NSW Water Well Licence (or ability to obtain)
Current First Aid certificate (or ability to obtain)
Demonstrated experience operating a coring Geotechnical Drill Rig, ideally in a senior or leading hand capacity
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Solid commitment to health, safety, quality and environmental standards
Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills
A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to take ownership
Current Construction White Card
Current driver's licence
