The Job Profile
The primary focus of this role is to manage day to day Accounts Payable function, month end tasksand reporting as well asdeliveryofdaily salesand results.
The Role
The JuniorAccountantisresponsible forthe end-to-end processing of invoices and expenses, which includes verifying authorization,accuratecoding of creditor numbers and General Ledger accounts, andsubsequenttransmission for processing. The role also involves addressing creditor and staff queries related to payments, ensuringtimelyand effective resolution.
Key responsibilities extend tomaintainingthereconciliation of plant costsand managing all aspects ofsubrights, including communication with international publishers, diligent payment chasing,
andaccurateallocation of cash receipts. The Junior Accountant will also provide essential support to our distribution clients throughmonthly reporting, account reconciliation, invoice verification, and the calculation ofrebate recharges.
Furthermore, this role contributes significantly to various internal reporting requirements, encompassing weeklyBookscansales, daily sales, and weekly key slicer reports.Additionalduties include managing thePubTrackmonthly data file,facilitatingdigital data loading toBookmaster, and undertaking other ad-hoc reports and operational tasks asrequiredto support the finance function.
The Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate willhave an accounting degree or at least two years of experience in a similar accounting function. Media experience – whether in industry or auditcapacity– is highly desirable. You will have exceptional organisational and communication skills together with solid knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite, strong intermediate to advancedExcel skillsand experience working with accountancy software.
You will be a proactive team player, self-motivated and able to work under own autonomy with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills as well as have good analytical skills and the ability to use judgement. You will have an inquisitive mind and be unafraid to question existing processes and suggest potential improvements.
This is a full time permanent role,currentlyoperatinga hybrid working arrangement, the candidate must be able to attend theSydneyoffice weekly.
