Yilabara is a not-for-profit Aboriginal organisation specialising in the economic development of Aboriginal communities, community members, and their families. Yilabara was established in June **** and our success has lead to continued growth over the past six years with us now delivering services from 30+ locations across NSW to over 4,000 clients. We aim to improve Aboriginal community wellbeing by building relationships with community, government and industry in order to deliver real jobs in culturally responsive workplaces. The Position
Yilabara's dedication to quality has assisted us to become a leader in our industry. Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Assurance Officer is responsible for supporting Yilabara achieve and maintain accreditations necessary to comply with government funding contracts including ISO ****, DEWR Quality Assurance Framework and Right Fit for Risk and National Standards for Disability Services (NSDS) Certification . The Quality Assurance Officer will assist in the administration and coordination of our QA program which not only enhances our service outputs but also fosters a culture in which all employees are actively engaged and embrace the importance of quality.

. This role will have focus on our Western NSW programs and travel to western offices will be required.
Responsibilities include:




Administering the Yilabara QA program to maintain accreditations including ISO ****, DEWR Quality Assurance Framework and Right Fit For Risk
Assisting in the development of policies, procedures and training enabling Yilabara's achievement of internal quality standards and external accreditation requirements
Monitoring compliance and conformance through the internal audit schedule, preparing audit reports with an ongoing focus on continual improvement
Identifying training needs, and liaison with Learning & Development and Management to implement strategies that build capacity ensuring consistency and compliance across all programs
Close liasion with frontline operations raising awareness of the day to day importance of quality and compliance and ensuring the Quality Team is recognised and utilised as an internal resource to support the delivery of frontline services
Document all quality assurance activities in Yilabara's internal system
Ongoing development and delivery of training in the comprehensive suite of practice guides for Yilabara programs
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of relevant workplace regulations e.g. Freedom of Information Act, Privacy Act, Anti-discrimination Act, WHS/OH&S; Act/s.
Relevant qualification in business related discipline such as Management, Quality Management or similar




Demonstrated experience in the delivery of Commonwealth funded employment services including comprehensive knowledge of compliance and contractual obligations
Knowledge and/or lived experience of the cultural practices, values and issues that affect Aboriginal people in today's society
Experience in the achievement and maintainance of quality standards such as ISO ****, QAF, or NSDS
Thorough working knowledge of quality assurance standards and methodologies with demonstrated experience implmenting recommendations for improvement from audits and continuous improvement strategies.
Strong numerical skills and understanding of data analysis/statistical methods
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organisational, time management and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
Proven ability to build, develop and maintain effective working relationships across all levels of an organisation
High level computer literacy with experience in quality assurance and risk management technology and Microsoft Office applications
Working With Children Check for paid employment and completion of National Police Check.
