Indigeco is partnering with a global leader in 3PL and supply chain solutions to recruit a Transport Supervisor for their Sydney hub in Horsley Park. This isn't a "floor" role; we are looking for a commercial-minded coordinator who can manage the complex variables of a national linehaul network during the critical afternoon and evening peak.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
You will take ownership of the night-time linehaul operations. You are the central point of contact for carriers, drivers, and interstate hubs, ensuring that every asset is moving, every driver is compliant, and every departure hits its window.
Manage the real-time execution of 30 to 40 linehaul movements per night, including tracking arrivals and coordinating ad-hoc vehicle "buys" when volumes spike.
Act as the primary point of contact for carrier management, troubleshooting driver delays, and identifying location-specific bottlenecks across the national network.
Oversee equipment maintenance and breakdowns by coordinating with mechanics and tire contractors to ensure trailers are fit-for-purpose before departure.
Drive a strict "Safety First" culture through Behavioral Based Safety (BBS) programs, investigating incidents and ensuring Chain of Responsibility (CoR) compliance.
Facilitate high-quality shift handovers to the morning team, providing detailed reporting on performance deviations, carrier challenges, and operational wins.
Navigate politically sensitive and time-critical inquiries from warehouses and transport hubs regarding driver locations and freight status.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you need to be "match-fit" for a high-volume transport environment. You are someone who thrives on the phone, thinks critically under pressure, and understands the mechanics of a heavy vehicle network.
You bring proven supervisory or team lead experience specifically within a transport or linehaul setting rather than a standard warehouse setting.
You possess a deep understanding of Chain of Responsibility (CoR), work diaries, and the regulatory requirements of heavy vehicle transport.
You have a "can-do" attitude with the ability to prioritise a high volume of calls and inquiries during the 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM peak period.
You are proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and have the technical aptitude to learn complex Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
You are an effective communicator who can manage external contractors with a firm but respectful approach to ensure service level agreements are met.
You are comfortable being office-bound and focused on coordination and data reporting rather than physical floor management.
WHAT YOU GET
Annual salary package of $97,450.
7% annual bonus target paid every April.
Stable Monday to Friday shift (2:00 PM start) providing weekend freedom.
