Y Schools Queensland Toowoomba Campusare recruiting a Senior Youth Worker on aPermanent Full-Timebasis to join our team based in Toowoomba.
As the Senior Youth Worker with the Y Schools Queensland, you will be responsible for assisting young people in understanding their full potential, regardless of their background or individual circumstances.
You will thrive in the knowledge that your guidance can impact young people to recognise their true value in a holistic sense and gain fulfilment from seeing them grow into young, empowered adults.
What will my time look like?
Coordinate the delivery of the school's pastoral care and community development program so that student wellbeing needs, and attendance targets are met
Plan and lead wellbeing programs to students
Support the delivery of vocational training programs offered to students
Assist in delivering associated programs, services and events offered to young people through the operation of the campus
Form intentional relationships with young people so that their strengths, passions, interests and unmet needs can be supported appropriately through the operation of the school
Am I a good match?
Hold a Certificate IV or above in Youth Work, Community Services or other relevant qualification
Hold a Positive Notice Blue Card, or be willing to obtain
Hold a Valid National Police Check within the last 6 months, or willingness to obtain
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with young people and their families from diverse cultural backgrounds
Demonstrated ability to plan and apply appropriate behaviour management strategies that contribute to the establishment and maintenance of a supportive setting
Commitment to working with young people using the Strengths Approach and ability to demonstrate non-judgmental, empathic framework
Be able to demonstrate excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
