The successful applicant will work on industrial fire protection, mechanical piping and equipment installation projects across Brisbane and interstate locations.
Key Responsibilities
Install and assemble pipework.
Read and interpret mechanical drawings, layouts, isometric drawings and P&IDs.;
Install valves, pumps, fittings, flanges, supports and mechanical equipment.
Carry out pipe cutting, threading, welding, grooving, flanging and alignment.
Assist with pressure testing, flushing, commissioning and fault-finding.
Coordinate with engineers and other contractors on site.Interstate Travel
FES regularly undertakes projects across Australia. The successful applicant must be available for interstate travel depending on project requirements.
Interstate site work will normally require travel for approximately
one to two weeks at a time
. Travel,



accommodation and applicable site allowances will be provided in accordance with company arrangements.
Essential Requirements
Demonstrated experience as a Pipe Fitter, Mechanical Fitter or similar trade.
Solid experience with industrial or commercial piping systems.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
Experience installing pumps, valves and mechanical equipment.
Construction White Card.
Current Australian driver's licence.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to travel and work interstate when required.
Highly Regarded
Relevant trade qualification.
Experience with fire water, hydrant, sprinkler, foam or deluge systems.
Experience with HDPE pipework and electrofusion or butt-fusion welding.
High Risk Work Licence, including forklift, EWP, dogging or rigging.
Confined space and working-at-heights qualifications.
Experience working at industrial facilities, fuel terminals, ports, airports or mining sites.
