Position Title:Aboriginal Health Worker/Practitioner, Primary Care - Various employment types available - Various centres
This is an identified position for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people based on a genuine occupational qualification under Section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act ****.

Your Qualifications
We are looking for a qualified Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Professional that:
Aboriginal Health Practitioner: Holds a Certificate IV in Aboriginal Primary Health Care (Practice) and is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Aboriginal Health Worker: Holds or aspires to hold a minimum Certificate III qualification in Aboriginal Primary Health Care.
Aboriginal Health Workers willing to obtain Cert IV in Aboriginal Primary Health Care (Practice) will be supported to transition to an Aboriginal Health Practitioner position upon completion and registration with AHPRA.
Eligible to drive in NSW and the ability to travel as required.
The Role
As an Aboriginal Health Practitioner, Primary Care, you will work as a key member of our multidisciplinary health centre team to provide flexible, holistic, and culturally sensitive health care services to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people and apply key strategies for face‐to‐face patient care.
There is a focus on prevention and management of chronic disease for Aboriginal clients and supporting them on their journey throughout custody back into community, particularly those with chronic or complex health conditions.
You will work collaboratively with nursing staff, Integrated Care Service, health professionals, Corrective Services NSW, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations and other relevant health and community groups to ensure the delivery of seamless, timely and effective health care to Aboriginal clients.
The Locations
We have roles available at Bathurst Correctional Centre, Broken Hill Correctional Centre, Junee Correctional Centre and Parklea Correctional Centre.
Bathurst:Bathurst Correctional Centre is a mixed-security facility for male offenders located in the centre of Bathurst, 1 hour from Orange and the Blue Mountains, and 210 kilometres west of Sydney.
The complex serves as a reception prison for western NSW.
On-site you'll find a close-knit clinical team led by a passionate & enthusiastic Nurse Unit Manager that encourages the development of staff.
Working within the Primary care team, you'll enjoy fantastic training & education opportunities all the while working alongside Mental Health, Drug & Alcohol, Population Health, and Aboriginal Chronic Care teams.

Broken Hill:Broken Hill Correctional Centre is a medium and minimum-security facility for both male and female offenders, located in far western Recent South Wales, approximately 1,190 km from Sydney.
The centre's medium-security section functions as a reception prison for a vast region of the state, bordered by Queensland to the north, Victoria to the south, and South Australia to the west.
It accommodates a mix of sentenced and remand inmates.
Junee:Junee Correctional Centreis a mixed-security correctional centre for males located 450 km west of Sydney.Junee is a vibrant town located in the Riverina region of New South Wales, Australia.
Known for its rich history, the town offers a blend of rural charm and modern amenities.
Junee is famous for its historic railway station, which dates back to the 19th century, and the Junee Licorice and Chocolate Factory, a popular tourist destination.
Parklea:Parklea Correctional Centreis located in the north-western suburbs of Sydney and houses remand, minimum- andmaximum-security inmates.
Salary and Benefits
Your salary of $69,******- $90,****** per annum plus super and leave loading is just the beginning.
