About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Chef with strong expertise in authentic Nepali and Indian cuisine.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing traditional dishes, maintaining food quality, and ensuring smooth kitchen operations in a fast-paced environment.
This role suits a skilled culinary professional with strong knowledge of traditional spice profiles, regional cooking methods, and consistency in high-volume service.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook authentic Nepali and Indian dishes to a high standard
Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control
Assist with menu planning and development of seasonal dishes
Manage food preparation, cooking, and plating during service
Oversee daily kitchen operations and workflow coordination
Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies
Maintain food safety, hygiene,
and WHS compliance at all times
Train and support junior kitchen staff when required
Ensure proper storage and handling of all ingredients
Work closely with management and front-of-house team for smooth service
Essential Requirements
Minimum Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification (or higher)
Experience
Minimum 2-3 years experience as a Chef
Strong experience in Indian and/or Nepali cuisine strongly preferred
Skills and Attributes
Solid knowledge of authentic Nepali and Indian cooking techniques
Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment
Strong attention to detail in flavour, presentation, and consistency
Good time management and organisational skills
Ability to work under pressure during peak service hours
Team leadership and communication skills
Robust understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
Reliable and professional work ethic
Employment Perks
$80,000 - $82,000 per annum plus 12% superannuation
