ND Perspective is a neurodiversity-affirming, multidisciplinary clinic in Wangara, supporting autistic and neurodivergent children, teens, adults and families with NDIS funding.
We are looking for an experienced psychologist to join our team, initially two days per week, with the option to increase days in the future (if desired) as the role and caseload grow.
The clinic is led by Alecia Hancock, who brings more than 15 years' experience building purpose-led organisations, along with lived experience of chronic health disability, being a late-diagnosed ADHD adult, and the parent of an autistic child.
That lived experience shapes the clinic's direction: practical, family-centred, strengths-based, and designed to support both clients and the clinicians doing the work.
We are not trying to be a high-volume therapy machine.
We are building a thoughtful clinic where neurodivergent people are respected, families feel understood and well supported, and clinicians have room to do good work.
Our current caseload is a mix of autistic and neurodivergent children, teenagers, adults and families seeking practical, affirming support.
We take a client-led approach, recognising each person and family as the expert in their own life.
Our role is to support, guide and build capacity within everyday life, not to "fix".
Our team includes clinicians with lived experience of neurodivergence, parents of neurodivergent children, and people who genuinely care about doing things differently.
What makes ND Perspective different
Lived-experience-led:Our clinic is shaped by professional expertise, family experience and lived experience of neurodivergence.
Neurodivergent-affirming in practice:We focus on strengths, autonomy, communication, sensory needs, emotional regulation, environment, identity, wellbeing and meaningful participation.
Our clinic base:Our Wangara clinic includes therapy rooms and a large OT-inspired gym, giving clients and clinicians a practical space for sessions, collaboration and reset time.
We also operate in homes, schools and the community where appropriate.
Multidisciplinary support:Work alongside behaviour support, OT, speech and other psychologists, with opportunities to collaborate around shared clients.
Dedicated clinical support:Work closely with experienced clinicians and leadership who are focused on supporting both clients and practitioners to achieve sustainable, high-quality outcomes.
Room to contribute:We are growing parent education, practical resources and better ways to support families navigating neurodivergence and the NDIS.
You can be part of shaping the way the clinic works and communicates, if this is something you enjoy.
What working here feels like
You are trusted to use your clinical judgement.
You have access to a genuinely collaborative multidisciplinary team.
You are not carrying the full burden of admin and coordination.
You are supported, not stretched thin.
You have access to a clinic base, therapy rooms and OT-inspired gym, as well as options for school, home and community-based work where appropriate.
You are supported with bookings, scheduling and client communication.
You are encouraged to develop your interests and areas of passion.
You are part of a team that values quality of care, sustainability and family trust.
How this role works
This role is initially two days per week, with the option to increase days in the future.
There is flexibility around working days and hours.
Adaptable working arrangements are available, including capacity for remote work for report writing, planning and administration where appropriate.
The caseload includes adults, teens and children, with scope to shape the role around your strengths and interests.
Admin support is provided, including bookings, scheduling and client communication.
Supervision and professional development are supported and funded.
Expectations
We believe in sustainable, realistic workloads that support both clinicians and clients.
We also believe in open, direct communication about needs, capacity and expectations.
This role would suit someone who:
Has general registration as a psychologist.
Meets the requirements to deliver psychology services under the NDIS
Has experience working with autistic and neurodivergent clients.
Values neurodiversity-affirming, client-led practice.
Can provide practical, family-centred psychological support.
Has experience working with autistic individuals (lived or professional)
Enjoys working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Is committed to ongoing learning and reflective practice.
Is comfortable working both independently and with support.
Communicates clearly and contributes positively to a small team environment.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for an experienced psychologist who is confident working with autistic and neurodivergent individuals and families, and who is genuinely aligned with neurodiversity-affirming, client-led practice.
Lived experience of neurodivergence, disability, parenting or caring is also highly valued, but not required.
The ability to supervise, mentor or support other clinicians would be highly regarded, but is not essential.
Remuneration
$100,000 – $120,000 + superannuation, pro rata, depending on experience.
The role is initially two days per week, with potential to increase over time.
A note on culture
This is not a high-pressure, high-burnout environment.
We are intentional about creating a workplace where clinicians feel supported, respected, and able to do their best work.
Be part of a small close-knit team, that cares about each other's wellbeing and success.
For us, neurodivergent-affirming practice is not just a phrase in a job ad.
It means we are strengths-based, curious and respectful.
We are not here to make neurodivergent children, teens or adults appear more neurotypical.
We focus on understanding each person's communication, sensory needs, emotional regulation, autonomy, interests, environment and goals.
It also means therapy does not need to look one particular way.
Sessions may involve movement, play, visuals, special interests, sensory tools, co-regulation, quiet time, or adapting based on what the client can manage that day.
Because we offer psychology, behaviour support, OT and speech under one roof, we aim to understand the whole person, not just one slice of their presentation.
We value clear communication, practical support, flexibility where possible, and a workplace where people can have honest conversations about what helps them do their best work.
At the same time, we are a team that values accountability, contribution and high-quality care.
