Recruiting for aSenior Estimatorto join our client's estimating department in a full-time capacity based in Archerfield, QLD.
This is a strategic position within the civil industry, where you will play a pivotal role in preparing detailed cost estimates and project feasibility assessments that directly influence business development and project profitability.
As a Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for leading estimating activities, working along side Project Managers & Junior Estimator, and ensuring accuracy and consistency across all estimates whilst maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

Key responsibilities
Prepare comprehensive and detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labour, materials, plant and equipment costs
Conduct thorough site assessments and feasibility studies to support accurate project scoping and pricing
Review architectural and engineering drawings, specifications and tender documentation to identify project requirements and potential risks
Develop and maintain robust relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes and pricing data
Mentor and supervise junior estimators, providing technical guidance and quality assurance on estimate deliverables
Utilise estimating software and tools to develop models, track costs and generate professional tender submissions
Collaborate with project managers, commercial teams and business development to support bid strategy and project planning
Maintain accurate estimating databases and historical cost records for continuous improvement and benchmarking
Identify and communicate cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions to enhance project margins
Ensure compliance with company standards, tender conditions and industry best practices throughout the estimating process
What we're looking for
Minimum 8+ years' experience in construction estimating, with demonstrated progression to a senior level
Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, materials, labour practices and industry standards
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office applications, with advanced spreadsheet skills
Proven ability to interpret and analyse construction drawings, specifications and tender documents accurately
Excellent numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
Demonstrated experience in leading, mentoring and developing junior team members
Solid communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present estimates and recommendations clearly
Knowledge of construction project delivery methods, including traditional, design-and-construct and alliance models
Familiarity with construction plant and equipment, and ability to source and evaluate quotes competitively
Proactive problem-solving approach with the ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously within tight timeframes
Relevant construction or quantity surveying qualifications or certifications (desirable but not essential)
