Homebush Bay Foods is seeking a capable and experienced Baker Pastrycook to work with our morning shift production team. This is a full time role based at our Homebush, NSW facility.
Monday to Friday 6am to 2pm
Working with a team of 5 mixing and depositing of all our individual, tray and round cakes.
Must be an experienced baker with at least 3 years supervisor experience in bakery production.
The roles is a hand on role
The successful applicant will need to have experience:
Prepares and cakes batter and biscuit doughs
Checking the cleanliness of equipment and operation of premises before production runs to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
Checking the quality of raw materials and weighing ingredient
Preparing cake batter and doughs
Monitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking times
Coordinating the depositing and weigh of cakes into tin
Managing the preparation of all recipes that are required for the Cake Depositors during the production day. Work instructions must be adhered to following correct mixing time and maximum temperatures. This is essential in order to prevent quality issues arising from icing blooming.
Recording all the correct batch codes onto the recipes and trace sheets,
this is critical to product traceability
Managing all work in progress (WIP) which is stored for use on a subsequent production day ensuring all WIP is correctly batched, wrapped, stored and discarded when past its protected use by.
As a semi-autonomous role where the employee shall work independently early in the morning. The employee will be responsible to follow a schedule of work as directed by the decoration supervisor. This is to ensure that when the rest of the team begin their shift, the ingredients prepared in the morning match the workflow planned for the day
As the first employee to start within the decoration team, it will be their responsibility to prepare the workstation for the first scheduled jobs. This will include any equipment, utensils and packaging materials required. The expectation will be that when the other team members arrive, work can begin at the station immediately
