Disability Support Worker (Casual)
Multiple positions available
About the role
The Da'Vange Group is seeking compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Workers to join our team in the northern suburbs of Brisbane.
As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide personalised care and support to individuals living with disabilities, helping them to achieve their goals and live independent, fulfilling lives.
What you'll be doing
Supporting participants with high and complex needs, including Level 3 ASD, medical supports, and behavioural support requirements
Assisting with daily living activities such as personal care, PEG feeding, meal preparation, and household tasks
Implementing Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs) and working within authorised restrictive practices in line with NDIS guidelines
Monitoring and responding to seizure activity, including administration of emergency medication (e.g. Midazolam) where trained
Providing emotional support and engaging participants in meaningful, structured activities
Accurately documenting progress, incidents, and daily notes in line with compliance requirements
Maintaining a safe, consistent, and therapeutic environment that promotes dignity, choice, and independence
What we're looking for
Demonstrated experience supporting participants with complex behaviours, particularly individuals with Level 3 Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
Confidence and competence in managing challenging behaviours,



including de‐scalation and proactive support strategies
Experience working within meal time management plan guidelines, following positive behaviour support plans.
Understanding of and experience setting up restrictive practices in accordance with legislation and behaviour support plans.
Solid communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with families, allied health professionals, and multidisciplinary teams
A calm, resilient, and adaptable approach in high‐pressure situations
A genuine passion for supporting individuals with disabilities and a commitment to promoting their independence and wellbeing Experience in the disability services sector, preferably in a similar role Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and work effectively with clients and their families
A positive, patient, and flexible approach to problem-solving
A valid driver's licence and access to reliable transportation
Yellow Card, Blue Card, First Aid and CPR, and NDIS Worker Orientation Module
Ability to work across a 24/7 roster including sleepovers, weekends and evenings
You MUST be available for at least 2 sleepovers per week
Manual Handling experience highly regarded
Certificate III in Individual Support or Certificate IV in Disability is highly regarded
