Adaptive Aid Solutions

New South Wales

Lake Macquarie based, working across Lake Macquarie, Central Coast & Newcastle
Love being active, hate sitting still, and want to make a real difference for teens and young adults?
Adaptive Aid Solutions is a small, fit and friendly NDIS provider.
We help psychosocial and neurodivergent teens and young adults turn their funding into real life: getting out of the house, going to the gym, playing sport, building routine, confidence and basic life skills.
We are hiring multiple casual support workers based in Lake Macquarie who can work across Lake Macquarie, the Central Coast and Newcastle.
The role
You will mostly work 1:1 with teen and young adult and a few Mature NDIS participants, doing things like:
Sport and movement: soccer, basketball, gym, walks, swims
Outings: movies, arcade, beach, bushwalks, cafes
Building simple routines around sleep, food, hygiene, school/TAFE/work
Mentoring: listening, encouraging, modelling good choices
Supporting complex behaviours and big emotions in a calm, steady way
Taking basic shift notes and communicating with the team and families
This is not a sit on the couch role.
You will be moving.
Who this is perfect for
You live in Lake Macquarie, Newcastle and Central Coast and/or are happy to travel into Lake Maquarie, Newcastle and Central Coast.

You are seriously active and play sport and/or train multiple times per week
You are patient, emotionally steady, and do not take things personally
You like the idea of mentoring, not just "babysitting"
You are coachable, follow systems, and can run on your own once shown
You can be gentle when needed, and firm but kind with boundaries
You are willing to stick with clients for 6 to 12 months so they get consistency
Must haves
Legal right to work in Australia
Driver licence and reliable car
Working With Children Check (or willing to get it quickly)
NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willing to get it quickly)
Comfortable with psychosocial disability, mental health challenges and behaviours of concern
Able to work a mix of after school hours and some weekends
Previous NDIS, youth work or disability experience is ideal but not essential if you are the right person and willing to learn rapid.
What you get
Paid to play sport, be active and do fun community activities
Regular, ongoing shifts once matched with the right participants
Small, supportive team, clear communication, no big provider nonsense
Training, supervision and a pathway into more responsibility over time
