About the role
OZTRAC HIRE is seeking an experiencedPerth-based Heavy-Duty Diesel Fitterto join our team in a full time position located in South Guildford, WA ****.
This role combines mainly field service duties with workshop-based activities when in Perth, offering you the opportunity to work on a diverse range of heavy-duty diesel equipment and machinery.
You will be instrumental in maintaining our fleet and ensuring our clients receive reliable, efficient service.
This position is critical to our operations, as you will directly impact customer satisfaction and the operational efficiency of OZTRAC HIRE's Dry hire fleet.
Key responsibilities
Diagnose, repair and maintain our Dry hire fleet of Earthmoving equipment and associated mechanical components in both workshop and field service environments
Perform routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance on hire fleet vehicles and equipment
Conduct fault-finding and troubleshooting on Earthmoving machinery using diagnostic tools and technical expertise
Carry out repairs to engines, transmissions, hydraulic, fuel systems and other mechanical components
Undertake field service calls to client sites to repair and maintain equipment on location
Complete accurate documentation and records of all work performed, including maintenance logs and repair reports
Ensure all work is completed safely, in compliance with Minesite rules and regulations as well as relevant Australian Standards and health and safety regulations
Liaise with customers and internal teams to communicate repair timelines and technical requirements
Maintain workshop equipment and tools in good working order
What we're looking for
A Perth resident with a recognised qualification in Heavy Duty Diesel Fitting, having a minimum of 3 years' tradesman status




Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and mechanical tools specific to Earthmoving machinery
Strong knowledge of diesel engine components, common fault patterns and repair procedures
Experience working in both workshop and field service environments
A current MR Driver's License would be advantageous
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing time effectively across multiple tasks
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship is a must
Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach
Current First Aid qualification is desirable
