Legal Counsel | Construction & Procurement | Contract Role

Who we’re looking forWe’re seeking an experienced Construction & Procurement Lawyer to assist the Projects & Procurement Legal team of a leading multinational company.

This is an outstanding chance for a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys involvement in major projects and strategic procurement initiatives. You'll provide legal support across range of projects spanning the company’s East and West Coast operations, while partnering closely with procurement, project delivery and commercial stakeholders.

The OpportunityYou’ll assist with a broad range of construction, procurement and infrastructure matters, supporting teams responsible for capital works, project delivery, procurement and operational improvements.

The work will include advising on:
Construction only contracts;
Design and construct (D&C;) contracts;
EPC and other major project delivery models;
Supply and manufacture agreements;
Professional services contracts;
Procurement and purchasing arrangements;
Security of Payment legislation and related disputes/issues; and
Contract management and risk mitigation strategies.

In addition to day-to-day legal support,



there is an chance to contribute to strategic projects focused on improving contracting frameworks, procurement models and commercial risk allocation, including reviewing alternative approaches to security arrangements and performance guarantees.

About You

We're interested in lawyers who can confidently partner with business stakeholders and provide practical, commercially focused advice. Ideally, you’ll have:
5+ years' PQE in construction, projects and procurement matters;
experience advising on major projects, construction and infrastructure matters;
robust drafting and negotiation skills;
a pragmatic and solutions-focused approach; and
the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with legal and business teams.
