Practice Nurse | Lead Nurse (Registered Nurse)

Our client is seeking friendly, well-established private billing medical practice located in Miranda and are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join their team in a Lead Nurse position.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated nurse looking to move beyond shift work and take on a clinical leadership role that combines hands-on patient care with quality, governance, education and continuous improvement responsibilities.
Working closely with their doctors, nurses and administration team, you will help ensure the delivery of safe, effective and person-centred healthcare services while supporting clinical excellence across the practice.
About the Role
As a Lead Nurse, you will provide clinical leadership and oversight across the practice while maintaining an active clinical role.
You will contribute significantly to governance, accreditation, risk management, staff development and compliance activities.
This position is ideal for a Registered Nurse who enjoys autonomy, problem-solving, mentoring colleagues and collaborating within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Nursing
Immunisations and vaccine management
Wound care and chronic disease management
Assisting with minor surgical procedures
Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and patient records
Participating in patient recalls and follow-up activities
Maintaining and monitoring clinical equipment and supplies
Leadership & Clinical Governance
Provide clinical advice, support and leadership to nursing and medical staff
Coordinate and assess clinical competencies of employees




Deliver education, mentoring and professional support
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and patient safety
Quality, Compliance & Accreditation
Record, investigate and manage clinical incidents
Support compliance with reportable incident requirements
Conduct clinical audits and quality assurance activitiesMaintain the clinical risk register
Manage Infection Control and Vaccine Manuals in line with RACGP standards
Support and participate in accreditation activities
Reporting & Program Management
Submit PIP/WIP reporting through PRODA
Coordinate and maintain the CVC Program and billing requirements
Liaise with hospitals, specialists, allied health providers and external stakeholders

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Current unrestricted Registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
Previous experience in General Practice, Primary Healthcare or a comparable clinical setting
Demonstrated leadership and people management skills
Strong knowledge of clinical governance, quality improvement and risk management principles
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Previous experience in a Lead Nurse or Clinical Leadership role will be highly regarded.
