Fleet Mechanic — Diverse QLD Group | Mixed Fleet

The Haggarty Group is a Queensland-based group of companies spanning sheet metal, plastics, roofing, construction and more.
Behind those businesses is a fleet of around 50 vehicles — light commercial, heavy vehicles and passenger cars — and we're looking for a hands-on Fleet Mechanic to keep it running.
Reporting to the Lead Mechanic and working from our workshop (with field work as required), you'll take ownership of servicing, diagnostics, repairs and roadworthiness across the group fleet.
It's a varied, no-two-days-the-same role for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship and doesn't mind getting stuck into a genuine mix of vehicles.
What you'll be doing
Scheduled servicing across the fleet — oil and filter changes, brakes, suspension, belts and hoses, fluids and tyre rotations to manufacturer spec
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and electronic faults using scan tools, multimeters and good old-fashioned inspection
Repairs across engine, transmission, driveline, brakes, suspension, steering, cooling, exhaust and electrical systems
Safety inspections and ensuring vehicles meet QLD roadworthy and registration requirements, including heavy vehicle Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations
Responding to breakdowns — triaging on-site, recovering to the workshop, or referring to a specialist, and keeping operations and drivers in the loop on downtime




Road testing after repairs and keeping accurate service records and job cards in our system (Odoo)
Ordering parts and consumables, and keeping a clean, secure, well-organised workshop
Working safely at all times — correct PPE, safe isolation and lifting, and proper handling and disposal of oils, fluids and waste
What you'll bring
Trade qualification — Light Vehicle and/or Heavy Vehicle Mechanic (Certificate III)
Solid experience servicing and repairing mixed fleets
Strong diagnostic skills across mechanical, electrical and electronic systems
Familiarity with both diesel and petrol drivetrains
Confidence with scan tools and modern diagnostic equipment
A current open driver's licence (MR or HR licence highly regarded)
Working knowledge of QLD roadworthy and CoR requirements
Experience with digital job card / fleet maintenance systems (Odoo a bonus)
You're reliable, methodical and safety-focused, with a calm head under pressure and genuine ownership of your work.

Base salary up to $80,000 plus 12% superannuation
$18,000 vehicle allowance packaged through a novated lease
