Our client is a leading provider of engineering and maintenance services, delivering high-quality solutions across the mining, construction, and heavy industrial sectors. They are seeking experienced Mechanical Fitters to join their Newcastle workshop on a casual assignment supporting the refurbishment of Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs).
What You Will Be Doing
You will be responsible for carrying out the mechanical dismantling, inspection, refurbishment, and reassembly of Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs). Your duties will include working on heavy mechanical components such as bearings, hydraulics, gearboxes, rotating equipment, and gantry systems while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.
What You Will Need
Mechanical Trade Qualification (Fitter)
Experience working on heavy machinery, mining, or construction equipment
Solid mechanical aptitude with fault-finding experience
Experience with hydraulics, gearboxes, bearings, and rotating equipment
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematicsCommitment to safe work practices
Current Driver's Licence and reliable transport
