The Strategic Property & Commercial Activities Service manages one of local government's most diverse property portfolios, including community facilities, commercial properties, visitor destinations, operational assets and strategic land holdings. Our team is focused on delivering commercially sustainable, community-focused and compliant property outcomes that support the long-term objectives of Blue Mountains City Council.
Blue Mountains City Council is seeking an experienced property skilled to support the operational delivery and continuous improvement of one of local government's most diverse property portfolios.
As the Senior Officer – Property, Buildings & Strategy, you will play a key role in coordinating the day-to-day operational management of Council's property portfolio, supporting property and building projects, managing financial and procurement processes, and ensuring efficient service delivery across the Strategic Property & Commercial Activities Service.
This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the implementation of Council's Strategic Property & Commercial Activities Service and support the effective management, performance and sustainability of Council's property assets.
Reporting to the Program Leader – Property Portfolio & Strategy, you will:
Deliver property and building operational activities, projects and service initiatives.
Lead purchase orders, invoices, budget monitoring and financial administration to support the delivery of property services.
Manage contractors, consultants, maintenance works and procurement activities in accordance with Council policies and procedures.
Support the preparation and monitoring of operational budgets, financial reporting and expenditure tracking.
Coordinate inspections, condition assessments and compliance monitoring across Council-owned buildings.
Manage operational maintenance activities, contractor performance and building compliance across Council's property portfolio.
Drive specialist advice on property and building management matters.
Implement reports, correspondence, business cases and documentation to support operational and strategic decision-making.
Manage compliance with relevant legislation, standards, contracts and Council policies.
Build productive relationships with tenants, contractors, community organisations and internal stakeholders.
Drive continuous improvement, business system enhancements and the effective management of Council's property portfolio.
You will bring to the position:
Experience in facilities coordination, property operations, building administration or asset management.
Knowledge of building maintenance, contractor management and property operations.
Experience coordinating projects and working with multiple stakeholders.
Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes.
Sound understanding of relevant legislation, compliance obligations and risk management principles.
Commitment to customer service, teamwork and continuous improvement.
Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry experience
Remuneration:
base salary commencing at $100,301 gross per annum
+ 12% superannuation
+ annual performance-based salary increases / bonus (1-3.5%)
+ annual award increase
