Sales Representative – Industrial Automation
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused
Sales representative
to join our Townsville team. This is an exciting opportunity for a relationship-driven sales professional who enjoys working closely with customers and delivering practical solutions across the industrial sector.
In this hands-on role, you will manage an established portfolio of customers while identifying and developing new business opportunities throughout the region. Working with leading automation, electrical and pneumatic products from world leading manufacturers, you will become a trusted advisor to customers in the industrial, engineering, manufacturing and automation industries.
Position Overview
Manage and grow a portfolio of customers across Townsville
Build strong relationships with wholesalers, integrators, OEMs and end users
Identify opportunities, generate leads, and convert new business
Support customers with product selection and solution-based recommendations
Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth quoting, ordering and delivery




Key Responsibilities
Plan and complete regular customer visits
Maintain a consistent pipeline of opportunities and follow-up activity
Prepare quotes, manage negotiations, and close deals with healthy margins
Maintain accurate CRM notes and basic reporting on activity and pipeline
Represent the business professionally at customer sites and occasional events
Key Selection Criteria
Experience in
wholesale/distribution
sales (electrical, industrial, engineering, automation, parts)
Confident relationship builder with solid communication skills
Self-driven, organised, and comfortable working autonomously in the field
Commercial mindset (margin awareness, account growth, opportunity management)
Technical interest or ability to learn technical product ranges quickly
