About the Opportunity
Join NT PHN in a meaningful regional leadership role focused on strengthening relationships between NT PHN, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, healthservicesand key stakeholders across the Barkly region.
The Relationship Lead – Barkly Region will support trusted partnerships, community-ledengagementand co-design approaches, ensuring local perspectives inform NT PHN planning,commissioningand service improvement activities.
The role provides regional intelligence and strategic advice to the Executive Manager Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health on community priorities, service gaps, emerging healthissuesand opportunities to improve health outcomes.

This position is an Indigenous Identified role and is intended to constitute a special measure under section 8(1) of the Racial Discrimination Act **** (Cth) and section 57(1) of the Anti-Discrimination Act **** (NT).
Under section 35(1)(b) of the Anti-Discrimination Act **** (NT), it is a genuine occupational requirement that the incumbent be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person.
About You
You are a culturally responsive relationship builder with experience working respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities,servicesand stakeholders.
You understand the importance of listening, trust, localknowledgeand community voice in shaping better health system design and delivery.
Knowledge or training equivalent to a relevant degree and/or an extensive equivalent combination of relevant experience, education and training.
Demonstrated experience andexpertisein community engagement and co-design principles, particularly within primary health service commissioning.
Proven ability to develop and manage effective, collaborative relationships with service providers, community groups and external partners.




Demonstrated cultural competence and sensitivity in engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, including the ability to communicate respectfully and integrate cultural perspectives into decision-making.
Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage priorities, contribute to projects and delivertimely, fit-for-purpose outcomes.
Leadership capability, including experience mentoring others, promoting accountability and supporting client-focused service delivery.
About the Role
This roleoperateswith a community-led and culturally responsive approach, supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to influence health system design and delivery across the Barkly region.
Key priorities include:
Leading community engagement and co-design activities across the Barkly region, ensuring community priorities inform NT PHN planning and initiatives.
Building and maintaining strong, trusted relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, health services, governmentagenciesand key stakeholders.
Providing regional intelligence, cultural insights and strategic advice on community priorities, service gaps and emerging issues.
Representing NT PHN at community meetings, forums,eventsand stakeholder engagement activities across the Barkly region.
Facilitating collaboration between communities, serviceprovidersand NT PHN to support culturally responsive and community-informed health outcomes.
Supporting the development of briefing papers, reports, needs assessments, business cases and other documentation to inform decision-making and planning.
Contributing to NT PHN's Reconciliation Action Plan,



Cultural Respect Framework and Closing the Gap priorities.
Working collaboratively across NT PHN and with external partners to strengthen partnerships, improve service coordination and advance Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health outcomes.
