About the Role
As the Business Development Sales Manager for Brisbane ****, reporting to the Director of Business Development, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the commercial legacy of the world's largest multi-sport event. This full-time, Brisbane-based position is accountable for driving the end-to-end sales process, from identifying and qualifying new commercial partnership opportunities to leading complex contract negotiations.
We are seeking an ambitious and collaborative professional with strong commercial acumen to craft compelling partnership proposals, deliver mutual value, and act as a passionate ambassador for the Brisbane **** Games.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement targeted business development plans to identify, assess, and qualify new commercial opportunities, generating a prospective partner portfolio and leading the end-to-end sales process, from initial identification through to contract negotiation and execution, to achieve organisational revenue and partnership objectives.
Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders across prospective partner organisations, industry groups and key business networks.
Prepare compelling partnership proposals, presentations, business cases and commercial documentation that effectively communicate value propositions.
Maintain and actively manage the sales pipeline, ensuring opportunities are accurately recorded, progressed and reported through the CRM system.
Monitor partnership market trends, competitor activity, and industry insights to identify emerging opportunities and inform sales strategies, while developing regular pipeline, forecasting, and performance reports to provide insights and recommendations that support decision-making.
Work collaboratively with marketing, finance, procurement, legal and other functional areas to progress commercial opportunities and ensure successful partner onboarding.
Support the Director of Business Development in the development and execution of the broader commercial strategy while taking ownership of assigned partnership categories or target sectors.
Skills and Experience
Excellent commercial acumen - Proven ability to navigate commercial drivers, assess business opportunities, and develop strategic solutions that guarantee mutual success for the organisation and its partners.
Demonstrable experience building and maintaining trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business outcomes.
Business Development and Sales Experience - Proven ability to pro-actively identify, pursue and convert opportunities that achieve revenue objectives.
Demonstrates a strong understanding of partner objectives to deliver value-creating solutions, backed by proven expertise in commercial deal structuring and negotiating complex agreements to secure successful outcomes for all stakeholders.
Strong proficiency in utilising CRM systems to drive sales efforts, track revenue, and generate accurate projections.
Strong networks within Australian corporate networks and ability to connect to potential partners is desirable
