We are exclusively recruiting for an experienced and commercially minded Head of Legal to join a highly respected medical reserarch institute.

This is a rare prospect to step into a senior in-house role where you will provide strategic legal advice, support executive decision-making, and help shape risk, governance, and commercial outcomes across the business.

You will act as a trusted adviser to senior leaders and stakeholders, managing a broad and diverse portfolio of legal matters. The role spans commercial contracts, research and IP-related agreements, privacy, compliance, policy, board support, and external counsel management.

Key responsibilities
Provide high-quality legal advice to executive leadership, the Board, and key stakeholders.
Draft, review,



and negotiate a wide range of commercial, research, IP, procurement, and funding agreements.
Oversee compliance obligations, including privacy, regulatory, and policy matters.
Manage legal risk, and support governance requirements.
Manage external legal advisers and legal systems, including contracts workflow.

About you
Admitted as a legal practitioner with a current NSW practising certificate.
Senior legal experience, ideally gained in a law firm or in-house legal team.
Must have IP experience.
Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.
A collaborative, pragmatic, and commercially focused approach.
