Autobarn Toowoomba Customer Service Position
We are looking for a reliable and approachable person to join our team as a Casual Retail Sales Assistant.
This role would suit a recent school leaver looking to begin a career in retail, someone with previous customer service experience, or a genuine automotive enthusiast who enjoys helping people.
Previous automotive or retail experience would be helpful, but it is not essential.
We are more interested in finding someone with the right attitude, a willingness to learn, and the confidence to speak with customers.
About the role
Your main responsibilities will include:
Operating our point-of-sale system and processing customer transactions
Greeting customers and helping them find suitable products
Answering basic product questions and seeking assistance from experienced team members when required
Restocking shelves and maintaining product displays
Keeping the sales floor clean, organised, and presentable
Assisting with general retail and store duties
Continuing to build your automotive and product knowledge
This is not a high-pressure sales setting.
Our focus is on listening to customers, providing helpful advice, and making sure they leave with the right product for the job.
About you
We are looking for someone who:
Is friendly, dependable, and comfortable speaking with customers
Has a genuine interest in cars, automotive products,



or practical hands-on work
Is willing to learn and ask questions
Takes pride in accuracy and attention to detail
Can work effectively as part of a team
Is comfortable using computers and learning a point-of-sale system
Can follow instructions and complete tasks without constant supervision
Is available to work weekends
You do not need to know everything about cars before applying.
We have an experienced team who can provide training and help you develop your product knowledge.
Availability
This is a casual position, with shifts rostered between8:30 am and 5:30 pm, including weekends.
Applicants must have enough flexibility to work a combination of weekday and weekend shifts.
The ability to cover additional shifts when other team members are unavailable would be highly valued.
There may be opportunities for additional hours in the future for the right person.
Due to the weekday availability required, this position is better suited to a recent school leaver or someone who has completed school rather than a current school-based applicant.
