About the role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Hardware Engineer to join our Technical team in Sydney, NSW.
This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to provide hands-on hardware support and technical services to PTA customers and partners.
Working closely with our Sales, Pre-Sales, and Accounts teams, you will play a key role in delivering our products, solutions, and services — from terminal repairs and key injection through to managing the infrastructure behind our Remote Key Injection (RKI) and MAXSTORE services.
It is a role that blends technical depth, customer engagement, and ownership of critical systems.
What you'll be doing
Check and confirm warranty status on returned hardware by working closely with the Accounts and Sales departments
Perform hardware assessments and publish detailed reports




Review and provide quotations for out-of-warranty hardware repairs
Perform hardware exterior, mechanical, and electrical repairs, firmware loading, and key injection on devices
Provide technical support to PTA customers, resolving issues efficiently and professionally
Visit customer sites to deliver support and assist in resolving technical issues
Organise and attend online meetings with customers and internal teams related to technical initiatives and issues
Organise demo terminals and perform customer demos during meetings and company events
Manage PTA services including Remote Key Injection (RKI) hardware infrastructure support, weekly health checks, and system monitoring
Act as RKI System Admin Backup and Custodian
Support customers through the onboarding process and respond to enquiries
Prepare technical documentation including fault reports, test procedures, hardware assessment reports, and performance analyses
Stay current with developments in electrical technology, PCB design practices, components, and manufacturing methods
Undertake ad hoc tasks as required to support business objectives
What we're looking for
Minimum 2 years' experience as a Hardware and Software Engineer or in a similar technical role




Experience repairing EFTPOS terminals or similar electronic payment devices
Excellent knowledge of electronic and computer systems
Robust customer service skills, with the ability to build rapport and manage high-profile accounts in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated problem-solving ability and a talent for finding alternative solutions to technical issues
A track record of delivering process improvement and change
Exceptional planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and execute tasks under pressure
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Highly self-motivated and directed, with the ability to work independently
Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
